Gloria Anzaldúa was a Chicana feminist-lesbian editor and writer perhaps best known for co-editing, with Cherríe Moraga, the landmark book This Bridge Called My Back: Writings by Radical Women a Color. A scholar of Chicano cultural theory, feminist theory, and queer theory, Anzaldúa was a guiding force around issues of identity, history, culture, and sexuality. Anzaldúa won many awards, including the National Endowment for the Arts Fiction Award and the Lambda Lesbian Small Press Book Award.
