Ellen Pence was dedicated to ending violence against women and with others organized the Domestic Abuse Intervention Project in Duluth, commonly referred to as the “Duluth Model.”  She was the founder and director of Praxis International, a nonprofit research and training organization that works toward the elimination of violence in the lives of women and children. The city of Duluth dedicated their Public Safety Building training room to be the “Ellen Pence Training Room” in recognition of her life’s work and accomplishments.
