In Brief:

Adrienne Rich, for whom the personal, the political and the poetical were indelibly linked, was a socially conscious writer whose poetry influenced a generation of feminists and anti-war activists. She wrote more than a dozen volumes of poetry and five collections of non-fiction, including the seminal work Of Woman Born, and won a National Book Award for her collection of poems “Diving Into the Wreck” in 1974, one of many awards she received for her writing.
